New SSHRC-funded research on ideas and social policy in Canada

In June 2016, I was awarded a multi-year SSHRC Insight Development Grant for a project, entitled “Ideas and social policy in Canada: Origins, stability, and change.” It will address the questions: How do the ideas, beliefs, and mental shortcuts of policy makers affect both public perceptions and policy outcomes? Why do political actors hold certain ideas about policy and not others, and how do the ideas that dominate a particular policy area change over time?
